Our Story
Our story begins with a Dutch entrepreneur and his online shop: wheelchairs, crutches, shower chairs, rollators. It was one of the first in the country, and it works for a simple reason: people who find walking hard would rather not leave the house to buy the thing that helps them leave the house.
His son grew up in the trade, and after the business was sold he started again in 2020. He stocked the rollators of every other brand, and saw what was inside the boxes. The same frames, the same parts. What differed was the price and the road a rollator travelled before it reached you.
Almost every rollator we sold came from the same few factories.
At some point the penny drops. Almost all rollators sold in Europe come from the same few factories in China. The price is driven up by the route a rollator takes after it is made: from factory to distributor, then from wholesaler to shop. And every link has to make money.
How it was: a long, expensive road to you.
Factory, distributor, wholesaler, shop, you: every step raises the price.
How we do it: straight from us to you.
Factory and Parvum, then straight to you.
The biggest problem: nobody in the chain made the rollator better. Anyone who wanted to improve the product, its weight or its folding mechanism, had to ask the supplier.
And the supplier did very well out of the model as it was. Improving it was technically possible. None of the links just had any reason to.
Nobody in the chain had a reason to make a better product. That told us enough.
In 2024 we decided it had to change. We started importing ourselves and developing our own models in close consultation with the factory. And the price? Simply what a rollator costs to make and deliver, plus what it takes to keep the company running.
The brand takes the family name Klein, Dutch for small, in Latin: Parvum. A nod to the name it all started with, and at the same time a description of what the brand does: make smaller whatever makes a rollator a nuisance.
A market where an honest price is the standard.
Where we want to go is no secret. Parvum wants to become the biggest in Europe. The number isn't the point.
The point is what changes when a brand that knows this market from the inside is open about it and grows big enough not to be ignored. Then a buyer knows a good rollator doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. And once you know that, you don't pay it a second time.
We are working towards a market where an honest price is the standard, even if that means giving up our own lead. That is how we want to keep entire generations on their feet.
Keeping entire generations on their feet.
